How are we going to make amazing family portraits together?

 When you hire me as your family photographer we’re going to work together to tell the story of a regular day in the life of your family. Below I’m going to break that down into exactly how it’s going to look and feel, how we’re going to get it done and after that I’m going to tell you why Real Days are the most amazing gift you can give your family and yourself this year.

How do Real Days work?

I spend a full day with you

I make pictures of all the day-to-day stuff

like breakfast, getting in the car, brushing teeth, reading

I also make pictures of all the fun events too

like soccer or ballet, going out for ice cream or the grandparents stoping by

What does it feel like?????

It feels like an old friend from college coming over for the weekend, an old friend who happens to use their camera a lot

I do everything you and your kids do, my goal is to blend into your family and have fun together, learn about each other, share my story and learn yours.

I promise, your baby will like me, your kid will like me, your teen will like me and even your reluctant partner will tell you later that it was much easier than they ever though it could be.

But why? why are Real days so important for families?

My number one reason for doing this work is that I strongly believe that having these pictures build confidence. And as a human building confidence in girls, mothers and women is at the top of my list.

You may be asking how does it build this confidence?

Well, these pictures are going to lovingly represent reality. Lets think about the message that sends to children.

It very clearly says “you are enough, I love you just like this, I love you happy and laughing, I love you pouting, I love you fighting, I love you messy, I love you funny, I love you no matter what”

These pictures say, “I love you for yourself, not for how you look”

And when we send our kids the message that they are valuable just as they are we give them the freedom to be who they are and the confidence to hold onto that.

But what about moms? How do Real Days give moms confidence (and all parents, to be honest)

In exactly the same way they give confidence to kids: by lovingly representing reality

As parents we’re constantly second guessing ourselves. And Real Days are going to put down on paper a heart-felt and loving record of how you’re parenting.

You’re going to see that you’re doing all the practical stuff required of parents, but that you’re also hugging, listening, playing, laughing, creating fun, having fun, showing tenderness, supporting, and creating joy and safety around every corner of your kid’s life.

Even when you feel like its not enough, you’re doing it, you’re working hard and you’re working with care and love and you deserve to see and feel that.

Real Days will do that for you and the result is the space to shift your perspective and contemplate your parenting in new and beautiful ways.
